A unique painter worth rediscovering.
A self-taught painter, Yan’ Dargent enjoyed considerable fame during his lifetime. His famous *Lavandières de la Nuit* caught the attention of Théophile Gautier. A prolific and sought-after illustrator, he contributed to some two hundred works. Meanwhile, his religious paintings earned him numerous commissions. A unique painter, deeply attached to his native Brittany, Yan’ Dargent deserves to be fully recognized today.

Since 1989, the Friends of the Yan’ Dargent Museum association has been enriching the collections of the Yan’ Dargent Museum. It preserves, restores, studies, and promotes these collections. It fosters research and the dissemination of knowledge about Yan’ Dargent. All of this is made possible by the efforts of its volunteers and the financial support of its members.
