These are large-format works inspired by the Christian faith and painted mainly by the artist in his youth. Other paintings feature landscapes of Brittany. These museum canvases are presented by the Fonds Culturel Le Nost.
Alain Le Nost was born in Guingamp in 1934. He discovered his destiny as a painter in 1952, when he painted his first work in oils: this was to be his only professional activity. His work is highly varied, drawing inspiration from a wide range of sources, from Brittany and its traditions to the American West and Venice.
His preferred medium is oil on linen canvas. More than a hundred solo and prestige exhibitions (Brussels, Paris, Munich, Zurich, Geneva, various museums and fine Breton venues…) have attracted large audiences, alongside his own gallery-studio, which has been open for half a century.
Alain Le Nost died in 2023. He was a good friend of the Yan’ Dargent Museum, where he exhibited in 2005.
